Rise Up and Take Courage Circuit

Faith in action! That's what this weeks featured circuit creator, Audri, from Audri Marie Fitness, is all about. She states, "as a personal trainer and instructor, I have done my best to use my faith in a way that will benefit my students and clients. I use scripture to motivate my followers and do my best to always refer back to the values the Bible has set forth".

She chose these moves for her circuit because when she originally began working out these moves were incredibly hard for her to complete but without giving up, she challenged herself everyday to rise up and take courage to complete them. Just like everything else in life- if you choose to act with courage, you can accomplish anything!

You will need:

Dumbbells

Rise Up and Take Courage Circuit:

After a 3-5 min warm-up (jumping jacks, running in place, or a brisk walk outside if it's nice out!) complete the following circuit. Complete all four exercises then take a 30-60 second rest. Repeat circuit 3-4 times.

 

Up Down Planks: Repeat 10 reps starting in a push up position with your hands underneath your shoulders, don't allow hips to rotate as you move on to your elbows one at a time then come back up to your hands. Control the movement. Modification- stay on knees.

Bicep Curls: 10 reps on each side, core engaged, elbows right at your sides, focusing on the bicep contraction as you curl your arm. Modification- one arm at a time.

 

 

 

Push ups: 10 reps with your core engaged, hips down the entire time, neck-back-hips should make a straight line, hands a little wider than shoulders. Modification- come to knees or place hands on the wall with your body at a slant.

 

 

 

Renegade rows: 10 reps in a push up position, core engaged, hands right underneath shoulders to begin. Bring weight to side, making sure to keep your arm right against your ribs as you move dumbbell towards ribs. Modification- bring knees down to floor while remaining aligned.

A little about Audri: Audri is a mother of three, a USAF wife and a Beachbody coach. She is also an ACE, AFAA, NASM personal trainer, certified in Beachbody fitness classes, P90X, Insanity Live, PiYo live, Turbokick, and Hip Hop Hustle and is a licensed ZUMBA instructor.
